Flying is one of the safest means of transportation and is easily the quickest way of travelling long distances, at the current time. It is often the only practical and feasible way in which people can travel to another part of the world. Most of us do not have the luxury of spending weeks getting to and from our destination by boat or train, and, even if we did, wouldn’t necessarily wish to spend all that time travelling either. People with an intense fear of flying often find themselves stuck "between a rock and a hard place" – either they refuse to fly and accept the limitations that this imposes upon them or they force themselves to go through with it and try to bear the intense fear that this causes them. Neither option looks attractive.
